Getting Started

What is TagPulse?
+

TagPulse is an intelligent PC health monitoring application that watches over your computer 24/7. It uses our proprietary CHE (Computer Help Engine) with machine learning to detect problems before they cause failures - like an early warning system for your computer.

Unlike traditional monitoring tools, TagPulse learns what's normal for YOUR specific system and alerts you only when something actually needs attention.

How do I install TagPulse?
+

Installation is simple and takes about 2 minutes:

  • Download TagPulse from our download page
  • Run the installer (TagPulseSetup.exe)
  • Follow the on-screen instructions
  • TagPulse starts automatically and begins learning your system

No technical knowledge required - just click through and you're protected!

What are the system requirements?
+

TagPulse is designed to run on almost any Windows PC:

  • OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • RAM: 4GB minimum (8GB recommended)
  • Storage: 200MB for installation
  • CPU: Any modern processor (Intel/AMD)

TagPulse uses less than 3% CPU on average and minimal RAM, so it won't slow down your system.

Do I need to run TagPulse as Administrator?
+

TagPulse installs as a Windows service and runs automatically with the necessary permissions. You don't need to manually run anything as Administrator.

However, for full temperature monitoring capabilities, the service does require elevated access to read hardware sensors - this is handled automatically during installation.

Features

What does TagPulse monitor?
+

TagPulse monitors all critical aspects of your PC health:

  • CPU: Temperature, usage, clock speeds, thermal throttling
  • GPU: Temperature, usage, memory, driver status
  • RAM: Usage patterns, memory pressure, potential leaks
  • Storage: SMART data, health status, predicted failure risk
  • Network: Bandwidth usage, suspicious connections
  • Processes: Resource hogs, crypto miners, suspicious software
What is CHE (Computer Help Engine)?
+

CHE is our proprietary AI engine that powers TagPulse's intelligent monitoring. It uses machine learning algorithms including LSTM autoencoders and neural networks to:

  • Learn your computer's unique behavior patterns
  • Detect anomalies that static thresholds would miss
  • Predict potential failures before they happen
  • Reduce false alarms by understanding what's "normal" for YOUR system

CHE runs entirely on your computer - no cloud AI, no API keys needed. All intelligent analysis happens locally on your CPU. It gets smarter over time as it learns more about your specific usage patterns.

Do I need an API key or cloud subscription for the AI to work?
+

No. TagPulse's AI runs 100% locally on your computer. No API key, no cloud AI service, no external subscription required.

Unlike tools that rely on ChatGPT, OpenAI, or other cloud-based AI services, TagPulse's CHE engine uses built-in LSTM neural networks that run entirely on your own CPU. This means:

  • No API key needed - there is nothing to configure. The AI works out of the box
  • No per-token or usage costs - the AI is included free, forever
  • No AI cloud dependency - CHE's analysis runs on your machine, not on remote servers
  • No latency - results are instant since the neural networks run locally

Simply install TagPulse and the AI starts learning your system automatically. No setup, no accounts, no keys.

Note: TagPulse does send anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the product, and the Fleet Control (business) version transmits monitoring data to our cloud dashboard. But the AI engine itself never relies on external services - all intelligent analysis is performed locally.

Can TagPulse detect crypto miners?
+

Yes! TagPulse includes crypto miner detection as part of its security monitoring. It can identify:

  • Known mining software running on your system
  • Suspicious processes using excessive GPU/CPU resources
  • Hidden miners that try to disguise themselves

If you're intentionally mining, you can whitelist specific processes to avoid false alerts.

How accurate are the disk failure predictions?
+

Our disk health predictions use SMART data analysis, the same technology trusted by enterprise data centers worldwide.

We analyze SMART attributes, read/write patterns, error rates, and historical trends to give you advance warning - typically weeks or even months before a drive shows serious problems. This gives you time to backup your data and plan a replacement.

Pricing

Is TagPulse really free?
+

Yes, TagPulse is 100% free for home users - forever.

No credit card required, no trial period, no limited features. You get the full power of TagPulse including CHE AI monitoring, all hardware sensors, alerts, and more.

We believe everyone deserves to keep their PC healthy, not just businesses with IT budgets.

Is this really free or is it "freemium"?
+

TagPulse Home is NOT freemium — it's genuinely free with no limitations. You get all monitoring features, AI-powered alerts, SMART disk analysis, everything. No features are locked.

Fleet Control is a separate product for businesses and IT teams who need to monitor multiple computers from one dashboard. If you're just protecting your own PC, you'll never need to pay anything.

What's the difference between Free and Business plans?
+

The free version is designed for individual home users and includes full monitoring capabilities for a single PC.

Business plans (Fleet Control) add:

  • Centralized dashboard to monitor multiple PCs
  • Remote management and alerts
  • Team member access and permissions
  • Priority support
  • Custom reporting and analytics

Visit our Business page to learn more about Fleet Control.

How do you make money if it's free?
+

Our business model is simple: we offer TagPulse free for home users, and businesses pay for Fleet Control - our multi-computer management solution.

We don't sell your data, show ads, or have hidden fees. Free means free.

Privacy & Security

Does TagPulse collect my personal data?
+

No. Your data stays on your computer. TagPulse processes everything locally.

We collect only anonymous, aggregated statistics (like "how many users have SSDs vs HDDs") to improve our algorithms. We never collect:

  • Personal files or documents
  • Browsing history
  • Passwords or credentials
  • Individual usage patterns
Why does my antivirus flag TagPulse?
+

Some antivirus software may flag TagPulse because we use low-level hardware access drivers (like WinRing0) to read sensor data. This is standard practice for hardware monitoring software.

TagPulse is safe and has been verified by multiple security vendors. You can safely whitelist TagPulse in your antivirus settings.

Is my data encrypted?
+

Yes. All data stored locally by TagPulse is encrypted. If you use Fleet Control (business version), all communication between your computers and our servers uses TLS encryption.

Troubleshooting

TagPulse isn't showing temperature data
+

Temperature monitoring requires our companion service to read hardware sensors. Try these steps:

  • Open Services (services.msc) and check if "TagPulse LHM Service" is running
  • Restart the TagPulse service
  • Make sure .NET 8.0 Runtime is installed
  • Check if your antivirus is blocking the service

If issues persist, contact support.

The UI won't load or shows a blank screen
+

The TagPulse UI uses WebView2 (based on Microsoft Edge). If you see a blank screen:

  • Make sure WebView2 Runtime is installed (usually included with Windows 11)
  • Try restarting TagPulse
  • Check that the TagPulse service is running in Task Manager
  • Clear WebView2 cache: delete the EBWebView folder in TagPulse's data directory
TagPulse is using too much CPU/memory
+

TagPulse is designed to use minimal resources (typically less than 3% CPU and under 200MB RAM). If you're seeing higher usage:

  • Check if the CHE engine is in a learning phase (higher usage for first few days is normal)
  • Look for any database maintenance running in the background
  • Restart the TagPulse service

Persistent high resource usage may indicate an issue - please contact support with your logs.

How do I uninstall TagPulse?
+

You can uninstall TagPulse like any other Windows application:

  • Open Windows Settings > Apps > Installed Apps
  • Find "TagPulse" in the list
  • Click the three dots and select "Uninstall"

We're sad to see you go! If something wasn't working right, please let us know so we can improve.
